On Saturday, August 31, 2024, we had the incredible opportunity to host a Black Breastfeeding Week Community Celebration at the Solano Community Health Hub. Doula Doula, a collective of professional birth workers devoted to assisting expectant parents in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond, organized a day filled with empowerment, learning, and community connection. The event was designed to bring together new and experienced mothers, healthcare professionals, and community members to celebrate and promote the importance of breastfeeding within the Black community.

On Saturday, August 24, 2024, the Solano Community Health Hub was abuzz with energy as our Medical Reserve Corps unit, California Health Medical Reserve Corps hosted the "Disaster Preparedness for Everyone" event. The event brought together community members, volunteers, and experts to focus on the critical need for inclusive disaster preparedness.

When disasters strike, everyone is affected, but some people face more challenges than others. Individuals with disabilities often encounter unique obstacles that can make emergencies even more dangerous for them. To compact the issue, many emergency plans often fail to consider their unique needs in the event of a disaster.

In a recent interview with Lori Espinosa, the Suicide Response Coordinator at Solano County Behavioral Health, we gained valuable insights into the current state of mental health in the Solano community and the resources available to support those in need.

CHMRC, a leading nonprofit dedicated to community resilience and public health, proudly announces the launch of its redesigned website, CHMRCcares.org. Packed with new features, the site aims to provide visitors with valuable resources and streamline community engagement efforts.

In a recent discussion with Carli Cardwell, Resource & Referral Program Supervisor at Solano Family and Children Services, the significance of the Help Me Grow Solano program emerged as a beacon for families in Solano County seeking developmental support for their children. They partner with many organizations, including CHMRC, across the county to offer child developmental screenings for free and subsequent referrals for families.
